I’m Lori—teacher, professional costume and fashion designer, and visual artist. I’ve been teaching people of all ages to sew for almost 20 years!

Basic Sewing Techniques
Intermediate machine sewing including buttonholes as well as commercial pattern use and garment construction

Basic embroidery stitches as well as using those stitches for decorative “visible mending”
Intro to Hand Embroidery
Instruction and guidance for specific projects and skills—sewing, patterning, alterations, etc.

Learn to sew! This intensive course will teach you basic hand stitching as well as sewing machine operation and stitching, basic pattern reading, layout and cutting, and sewing construction techniques. This course requires NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE with sewing. You will be provided with all tools, materials and equipment, including a sewing machine to use.
This course is for adults only 18+ and is limited to 4 participants
Limited to 4 children, aged 9-12.
Sewing is fun! This camp will teach kids to hand sew with needle and thread as well as operate a sewing machine safely. Students wil create small bags and embellish them with handmade cord and other sewn embellishments. All materials, tools and equipment are provided.
Please bring a water bottle and lunch daily.
Learn the tools, materials and basic stitching techniques for hand embroidery in this beginner workshop. We’ll also explore how these techniques can be used to create “visible mending” on worn clothing. All materials, tools and equipment will be provided, however if you have a pair of “holey” jeans or similar that need mending, bring them along!
This course is for ages 16 and up and is limited to 6 participants
